Santas Helpers
I tell my children that Santa has some extra special elves that do not live at the north pole. Some of them make gifts, some wrap gifts, some who are very special get to dress as Father Christmas and listen to children. We have a very special one that we visit every year, being an elf myself I recognize him as one of the top elves. I am a gift maker/wrapper elf. This elf really decks the halls, invites you to wonder around looking at the lights, take pictures, sit in his sleigh and even has a snow machine. You can see his home a mile or more down the road. He passes out candy canes to the children and hands an extra one to Mom for a child that's too shy to come and sit in his sleigh. He never asks for donations for the astronomical power bill I'm sure he has. But we joyously give this special top notch elf an envelope with something to help with the Georgia power envelope. And we think its well worth it. If you live in the Atlanta area and want to visit him he is on Brookwood Dr SW, Austell. Take the East West Connector head South on Brookwood Dr SW (Near Hobby Lobby) Cross over Anderson Mill Rd and he will be on your left. He also has parking set up.

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy
My dear Sweet Boy...Happy Birthday.
May your life be filled with the joy you bring me.
May your path only cross those who are as kind and forgiving as you are.
May your days be filled with laughter, love and joy.
Thank you, thank you for choosing me to be the recipient of your kind, sweet gentle ways.
And always know I love you.
You take my breath away.

The Happiest Holloween
I think we had way too much fun...but the star of the show was Alex and his Robot Costume. He had it complete with flashing lights, head lights and tail lights. People stopped him to take his picture...he was very proud. But not as proud as his sister was...she usually gets all the attention, but not Halloween night. She kept on whispering to me " I'm so happy for Alex, everyone thinks his costume is the best." Me in my wicked witchiness was please with the spell I cast over my family to have the Wickedest of Wicked nights. Because it was sooooo WICKED.

Labor day Celebration
Being a Home schooling Mom I had to turn Labor day into an opportunity. ..well of course.
And I learned a few things myself.
I learned the change in the horrible work conditions was brought on by one person Peter McGuire. And that the first Union organized was National Union of Carpenters, in Chicago.
Last but not least is a traditional picnic meal for Labor day...Oh you know I was all over that.
OK I said food, I know your expecting some scrumptious vittles. And I do mean scrumptious.
Irish Stew, homemade bread and apple pie is the traditional Labor day picnic. Workers and celebrants enjoyed the first labor day on September 5, 1882.
And I LABORED in the kitchen all morning...with some little helpers. A blanket was laid, dishes brought out and the workers and celebrators feasted.
Then I LABORED after wards cleaning everything up. But fun was had by all...me and my little family.

Sweetwater - Hiking
We are fortunate enough to live five minutes from Sweetwater State Park it is full of hiking trails, history and nature. It is one of the best places to home school...Nature is the best class room.
The kids and I headed out Monday with a full back pack, cameras and armed with curiosity.
I could chatter on about the beauty, the earthy smell and the joy of spending such a day with my children but a picture says a thousand words...and Alex and I have quite a few photo's to share.
The rest of the photo's are through the eye's of Alex my Artist...he really sees the beauty of nature.
